After graduating from Florida State University’s School of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Spencer wasted no time chasing his vision—rucksack packed, he headed west. He spent the next decade sharpening his skills as a freelance director, cinematographer and editor, collaborating with a wide range of clients, musicians, and artists across the country.
In 2021, Spencer relocated to Nashville with his wife and daughter. Since then, he’s worked with agencies and independent clients alike, blending commercial and documentary filmmaking into a distinctive style that bridges timeless Americana with contemporary storytelling.
Spencer’s work is marked by a love for classic American imagery and a classic cinematic tone that feels both vibrant and dreamy—imagine Technicolor Westerns with modern day flare. When possible, he shoots on film, staying true to a visual aesthetic rooted in Old Hollywood nostalgia.
